Tips for fixing a Lift Master photo eye
Gate does not reverse when there is a Obstruction
- Using incorrect reflector. USE THE PROVIDED REFLECTOR ONLY.
- If the reflector is mounted horizontally it will need be mounted vertically.
Gate does not move
- Minimum of 2 entrapment devices not installed. Check sensor connections. Slide gate operators require a minimum or two devices one in the close and one in the open direction.
- Sensor is obstructed. Check for obstructions.
Red And Blue LED Lights Alternate Blinking
- Internal fault Disconnect all power, wait 15 seconds, then reconnect power.
If issue continues, replace sensor.
Red/Blue LEDs blinking together
- Internal memory fault Disconnect all power, wait 15 seconds, then reconnect power.
If issue continues, replace sensor.
Solid Red LED And Gate Wont Close
- The sensor may not properly aligned. You will need to align the sensor until the blue light is on solid.
- Sensor could be too far from reflector. If possible decrease the distance between the sensor and reflector.
- Reflector or sensor lens is dirty. Clean the sensor and reflector with a soft damp towel
- Object is obstructing beam. Remove any objects obstructing beam
- Rain or condensation on reflector or the photo sensor lens. Gently wipe and clean the sensor and reflector with a soft towel. If equipped make sure sensor heater is connected.
Blinking Blue LED
- Sensor is not optimally aligned. Align the sensor until the blue light is solid
- Sensor is too far from reflector. Decrease the distance between the sensor and reflector
- Reflector or sensor lens is dirty. Gently clean the sensor and reflector with a soft damp towel
